Bandipora: Following protests by worker’s  over allegedly  being thrashed by security personnel work on 330 Megawatt Kishen Ganga Hydro Electric Power Project (KGHEPP) at Mantrigam Bandipora was suspended.

 The worker’s allege that securit guards deployed during interlocutor’s visit had beaten worker’s. 

According to reports two workers identified as Reyaz Ahmed Malik and Bilal Ahmed Tantray sustain injuries during the scuffle with security guard.

The distric administration chose NHPC office as a venue for the public meet to be held with the interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma.

“The workers were not allowed to attend the office which infuriated them leading to a minor scuffle with few security guards,” they said.

Workers were joined by locals and raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans staged a protest.
