Kupwara: Two army men and two Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel have been killed in the encounter between militants and  government forces at Check Fatehkhan, Halmatpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Death toll has reached to seven as police had earlier claimed that three militants were killed in the encounter.

official sources confirmed to INS that the personnel died during the anti militancy operation and some of the soldiers are injured.

sources identified the killed personnel as  M. yousf 602/spo SOG kupwara, Sgct Deepak pandita SOG kupwara, of JKp and  Nk.Mohd Ashraf Rather 160 T.A., Nk Ranjeet singh 160 TA. Ranjeet had received bullet injury in abdomen.

 

official confirmation awaited. Details emerging.
