4 militants killed in ongoing Kupwara encounter

Kupwara: Four unidentified militants have been in an ongoing gunfight between militants and government forces at Check Halmatpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Official sources said that a joint team of Kupwara police, SOG and army launched a cordon and search operation in Halmatpora check. As the forces were zeroing into on the target area, militants fired upon the joint team. Four militants have been killed but their bodies could not be retrieved so far amid continuous fire from the other militants present in the area, a police officer said.
