Pulwama: Muslims joined the last rites of a Pandit woman, in Tral sub division of this south kashmir district on Friday.

An elderly Pandit woman Kamla Vati, 80, of Noorpora village died during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

As the news about her death spread in the nearby areas, scores of Muslims condoled the bereaved family.

Muslim women were also seen consoling the wailing Pandit woman’s family and relatives.

“The area has always been an example of communal brotherhood even in the difficult times and we are here for them and they are for us,” a Muslim local Ghulam Mohammad Ganai told INS.

“We are happy with our Muslim brothers here as they are living and caring, and have always stood by us, ” Roop Krishan, a local pandit said.
