Itoo visited various schools in Budgam to take stock of the educational scenario and teaching learning process in the district.

During his visit to Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools, Budgam, the DSEK took serious note of the thin attendance of the students in both the schools. He stressed upon the fact that the students with less attendance in the schools should not be allowed to sit in the board examinations.

“Reports at various levels should be compiled to monitor the attendance of students in the schools. At first, monthly reports should be compiled by concerned Principals; the CEO concerned should submit the report after second month and in the third month, Directorate of School Education, Kashmir should publish the list of the students with thin attendance and those students who should not be allowed to sit in the examinations,” Itoo said.

In presence of District Development Commissioner, Budgam Muhammad Haroon Malik, the DSEK also called a conference of the Heads of all the institutions in the district.

During their interaction with DSEK, the students highlighted some issues being faced by them related to teaching learning process.

“According to a latest order, 80 per cent of the local funds are to be retained by the schools for their utilization for the development of the school,” Itoo said while quoting the announcement of the Minister for Education, Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari to make 2018 as the year of infrastructure development for the education sector.
