Rath goes after auto rickshaws now, install meters

Jammu: After creating furor over his working style in managing traffic in winter capital Jammu, Inspector General of Police Basant Rath Monday issued advisory that Auto rickshaw’s in state should install meters and directed all the SSPs to launch special drives to check that auto rickshaws install meters.

“It has been observed that the auto rickshaws across tht state are plying without meters and charge fares according to their own will. All the concerned are directed to lauch special drives to check that auto rickshaws ply subject to fixation of proper meter and also that the passengers are charged as per the meter,” the advisory reads.
