Grenade blast in Tral: Under custody militant killed, cop injured

Pulwama: An under detention Hizbul Mujahideen militant has been killed and a policeman sustained injuries in a grenade blast at a police station in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

“As per preliminary report received somebody threw a grenade in a bid to take out the militant under custody,” Police Inspector General of Police Kashmir Range Swayam Prakash Pani told local news gathering agency.

 

“The injured policeman was holding his handcuffs,” he said.

The dead been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan. He was was arrested along with two other persons by Amy’s MARCOS at Watlab on January 7.
