Police sanctions over 2.44 lac rupees scholarship for wards of police personnel

JAMMU: Police granted scholarship of Rs. 2.24 Lakh in  favour of 29 wards of police men, on Saturday, who died in different militancy related incidents.

According to police spokesman Director General of Police S.P Vaid granted the scholarship.

“Eleven wards are reading in Graduation/ post graduation and the remaining eighteen are in primary and secondary classes. The scholarships have been sanctioned for the academic year 2016-17& 2017-18 out of Central Police Education Fund,” police said.

The statement issued further reads that scholarship of rupees twenty thousand eight hundred has also been granted for five wards of serving police personnel, who secured seventy per cent and above marks in the Post graduation/ graduation courses.

“The wards of serving personnel granted scholarship out of Central Police Welfare Fund, have completed their post graduation, graduation courses during the year 2016-17,” it reads.
