IUST yet to declare results of MA English exams held in Aug last year, students suffer

Awantipora: Students pursuing Masters program in English at Islamic University of Science and Technology Awantipora are accusing varsity authorities of playing with their careers for not declaring results even after six months of exams. Students claim officials are shielding four students who are not submitting their thesis’s and are enjoying themselves outside state.

Students said that on  August 14 last year they appeared in the last paper of English for fourth semester afterwards submitted Dissertation as well.

“Out of 28 students 4 didn’t submit thesis but they cannot hold results like this and play with our academics,” they said.

According to students the four who have not submitted their thesis are enjoying outside state while varsity has turned blind eye towards students plight.

“Varsity should have put pressure on these four  students so that we complete our degrees however we have been made to suffer for no fault of ours,” students rued.

Another student said that they could not apply in recently advertised posts by Public Service Commission and Service Selection Board as the criteria set was post graduate.

“We are not even able to apply for Mphil and PHD programs anywhere,” they said.

“Mother of an official recently passed away, otherwise awards sheets are ready and soon the result will be declared,” Controller examination IUST Dr M Amin Bhat told INS.
