Sports: Budgam boy bags silver in Moscow Wushu Stars 2018

Srinagar: Hashim Ashraf, a class X student of Army Goodwill School, Hanzik, has bagged a silver medal at the Moscow Wushu Stars 2018, an International Wushu Tournament in Russia.

The tournament currently underway which begun on February 16 and will end on Feb 21 2018.

“Fighting in the Below 56 Kg category, Hashim had a dream run in the tournament. In the final bout, Hashim faced a tough competitor from Kazakhstan. It was a closely contested final, but Hashim, who had only few hours ago played his semi final bout, was not able to overcome the competitor from Kazakhstan,” Army spokesman said.

Hashim, who hails from Dharmonah Village of Budgam District of J&K, was trained and sponsored by his school.

“The Army had always encouraged and motivated Hashim so as to help him in honing his sporting acumen continuously and help him achieve greater heights in terms of sporting glory,” Army spokesman added.
