Srinagar: As the 300-kilomter Srinagar-Jammu Highway remained closed for third consecutive day, the traffic police on Wednesday said that decision regarding reopening or otherwise of the thoroughfare, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with outside world, tomorrow.
“Due to landslide at Anokhfall, Srinagar-Jammu Highway remained closed for movement of traffic,” a traffic department official told INS.
The highway was closed for traffic on Monday as Kashmir experienced the seasons’s first major snowfall.
“Decision regarding allowing the movement of traffic on the highway shall be taken tomorrow (Thursday) after the road is cleared off by the concerned road maintenance agency and after assessing weather and road condition itself.”
He said those desiring to travel on the highway to check status of the highway from traffic control units at Jammu, Ramban and Srinagar before the travel.
