33555 unemployed educated youth registered in J&K: Govt

Jammu: 33555 unemployed post graduates, graduates, technical degree/diploma holders are registered with various District Employment and Counseling Centres of the State till December 2017, government said on Wednesday.   Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Information Technology, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, CA and PD, Tribal Affairs, Relief & Rehabilitation and Labour & Employment, Ajay Nanda informed the House that the government has taken several initiatives to provide employment to unemployed qualified youth in Government as well as in private sector. Responding to a question by legislator Mohammad Shafi, the Minister said, under Government Order No. 912-GAD of 2015 dated 30.06.2015, the Government has framed a policy to fast track the recruitment in Government Departments for filling up non-gazetted posts borne on the establishment of any department or service of the government and such gazetted posts as may be notified from time to time.  “To implement this policy, the J&K Special Recruitment Rules, 2015 has been notified vide SRO 202 of 2015 dated 30.06.2015,” he added and said that under the policy it is obligatory on the recruiting agencies viz J&K Public Service Commission and the J&K Services Selection Board to complete the selection process of already referred vacancies in a time bound manner. He said that during the last three years   PSC has made 3290 selections while 19583 selections were made by J&K SSB. The Minister further told the House that the State and Central Government has taken number of initiatives to address the unemployment problem through entrepreneurship and skill development. He said the self employment schemes like Seed Capital fund Scheme (SCFS), Youth Start-up Loan Scheme (YSLS), National Minority Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC), Women Entrepreneurship Programme (WEP) and Self Help Group of Engineers Scheme is being implemented to promote self employment.
