DGP grants scholarship of Rs 6.77 lakhs to 117 wards of deceased policemen

Jammu: Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid has granted scholarship of Rs. 6.77 lakhs in favour of 117 wards of police personnel, who were killed in different militancy related incidents or died in harness.
Scholarship of Rs.5 lakhs was sanctioned for 58 wards of 40 deceased policemen out of Central Police Education Fund for the year 2016-17 and 2017-18.”These wards are reading in different classes,” a police official said.
Similarly, scholarship of Rs. 1.77 lakhs has been sanctioned for 59 wards of 32 deceased police personnel, who died while in service due to natural or accidental deaths. The scholarship has been granted out of Central Police Welfare Fund for the academic year 2016-17
