Srinagar: Two civil engineers Adil Malik and Syed Mutayib Rizvi have taken the property dealing business in Kashmir to a new level – through a mobile application ‘Chinar Homes’.
The duo has studied engineering in United Kingdom. Before starting the project, they worked for an architectural and structural firm Archimedes Design in London.
They said in the traditional way of selling and buying of property, one had to contact the dealer and then visit the site, which was hectic and time consuming.
“In Chinar Homes, it is, everything is just a click away,” the engineers, in their 20s told INS. “Here, a real estate technology platform allows a user to buy, sell, rent and build property thus breaking the age-old tradition of property dealing in Kashmir.”
“We started the Chinar Homes to change the image of buying and selling property in the valley. Anyone can check the details including the images of the houses on our website,” they said.
Divulging details, the 24-year-old Adil said, “We have started the project of regulating and simplifying the process of building, selling, buying and renting properties through a mobile application.”
“The application features options for buying, selling, renting and building properties. It allows a user to find the property in their preferred area. Apart from featuring the pictures of the properties, it also gives other details like price etc.”
He said whenever a request comes from a (property) seller, the team of Chinar Homes comprising engineers and architects visits the site, checks documents and takes pictures of the property and uploads them on the application.
“Generally, the business is regulated by brokers who don’t know much about the buildings,” the co-founder Mutayib told INS. “As engineers, we can tell everything about the property. We get to know everything about the property even if the owner(s) try to hide something.”
Chinar Homes also provides the entire consultancy regarding building a house.
The duo is also looking forward to create jobs across the valley.
“We are always looking for agents who would work for us. They will have to report to us and will be accountable, leaving no room for fraud,” Adil said.
The venture, started recently, is getting good support from the people, the young engineers said.
“Nowadays, everyone is having a good smartphone and people prefer to shop online, so we are here to come up to their expectations and fulfill their demands.”
They said when they left the job in London and started the Chinar Homes in Kashmir, people raised objections. “But we had strong belief that this entrepreneurship will bring a good change in the society.”
“If Steve Jobs, Jack MA, Bill Gates, Elon Musk wouldn’t have sailed against the monopoly, they wouldn’t have changed our lives! Out of hundred, 99 startups fail but one startup succeeds because they refuse to give up on their idea and dreams,” Adil and Mutayib said.
