Cold unabated, MeT forecasts rain, snow from Feb 6 to 8

Srinagar: Minimum temperatures fell further in Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region due to clear overnight sky on Saturday, a Meteorological department official said on Saturday.
He said Srinagar, the summer capital of the state, recorded a low of minus 1.5C, Qazigund minus 2.4C, Kokernag minus 0.3C, Pahalgam minus 4.2C, Gulmarg minus 7C and Kupwara in north Kashmir saw a minimum of minus 1.9C. At minus 13, Kargil was the coldest town in the state while as Leh recorded a low of minus 5.2 C.
Meanwhile, the MeT official said that weather will remain dry till Monday while there was possibility of rain and snow from February 6 to 8. “On February 8, there is possibility of fairly widespread snow,” the official said.
