Jammu: Education minister Altaf Bukhari on Saturday termed the assault on kashmiri students in Haryana as “unfortunate” saying such incidents have negative impact on Kashmiris.
Talking to reporters outside the assembly Bukhari said, “The incident shouldn’t have happened. Unfortunately it happened. It came to our notice and we contacted the Haryana government and the culprits were arrested.”
He said it is our (government’s) duty to ensure such incidents don’t happen
The education minister said such incidents have negative impact on Kashmiris as Jammu Kashmir is a sensitive state. “People here perceive the situation in other way which ultimately creates disturbance in the state,” he said.
“Kashmiri students studying outside J&K should not feel insecure as we are there to take care of your safety and security,” he added.
“You please control your emotions and try to exhibit maturity while facing such situations,” Bukhari in his message to students said. “There are always those elements who are hell bent upon vitiating the peaceful atmosphere by resorting to such acts.”
