Srinagar: Police on Friday detained chairman of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq after he defied house detention and tried to march to Shopian.
The joint resistance leadership (JRL) has called for Shopian Chalo to protest against the recent civilian killings in the south Kashmir district.
