Minister for Education, Altaf Ahmad Bukhari on Thursday informed Legislative Assembly that a proposal for introduction of Islamic, Buddhist, Vedic studies, tourism and microbiology subjects in GHSSs was referred to the Finance Department for its concurrence but it has expressed inability for the creation due to scarcity of resources. However, he said the introduction of microbiology subject was under consideration of the department.
He also informed that 2154 teacher, 1296 non-teaching staff vacancies have been referred for fast track recruitment to overcome the paucity of staff (teaching and non-teaching) in the schools.
The department was contemplating to refer more posts to the recruiting agencies soon and in this connection the process of consolidation of vacancies was in progress in all districts, the Minister said.
Replying to a question of Daleep Singh Parihar, Bukhari said that there were 18 Higher Secondary Schools functional in Bhaderwah constituency, including 2 Girls Higher Secondary Schools where almost all important subjects are being taught.
He said that introduction of additional courses in these schools was based on the demand and requires creation of posts of lecturers in the corresponding subjects.
