Pulwama: A youth was injured in Chewa Kalan village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday evening.
Sources said that massive clashes erupted after government forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Chewa Kalan village following inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
Sources further said that to disperse the protesters, forces fired pellets and teargas, after youth reportedly threw stones at them to disrupt the search operation, in which one youth got pellet in his left eye.
According to the sauces, injured youth, Amir Shabir Bhat son of Suhail Ahmad Bhat of Chewa Kalan in Pulwama, has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, cordon was lifted from the area, when this report was filed in.
