Srinagar: The first month of 2018 has been a terrible one for J&K as death has cast its ugly shadow far too often already, former Chief Minister said on Saturday.
“2 civilians dead & many others injured (Shopian). The first month of 2018 has been a terrible one for J&K, death has cast its ugly shadow far too often already,” Omar wrote on twitter.
“Deaths along the border with Pakistan in Jammu & deaths in Kashmir. I can only pray that the rest of the year doesn’t go this way,” he added.
Omar also questioned Mehbooba Mufti’s condemnation of Kabul blast and “silence (till then) on Shopian killings.
“The violence in Kabul is tragic. It’s even more unfortunate when you can find words here & have none for the civilians killed in Shopian today @MehboobaMufti. You need to sort out the people managing your account.”
