BHADERWAH: The forest department on Saturday retrieved 400 kanals of forest land from encroachers at Bhalessa range of forest division Bhaderwah and the land has been fenced permanently.
A team comprised of Range Officer Bhaleesa, Sameer Reshu coordinated at circle level by the Conservator Forest, Chenab circle Doda, TB Singh IFS carried out the task under an operation in compartment number 107 and 109 of the forest division.
Range Officer termed the operation as “major achievement” and ordered immediate fencing of the retrieved area to prevent any further encroachment.
“The Forest Department retrieved 400 kanals of forest land during an anti-encroachment drive in Tuti Inhara and Pura area of Bhalessa range in Bhaderwah division,” CF Chenab circle said.
“The staff of forest department faced stiff resistance, however it succeeded in retrieving 400 kanal of forests land from the possession of encroachers,” he added.
The team dismantled boundary walls and removed the brush wood fencing put up by the encroachers.
