Srinagar: Former Intelligence Bureau chief Dineshwar Sharma, who was appointed as the ‘representative’ by Government of India to understand the “legitimate aspirations” of people in Jammu and Kashmir, is arriving in Kashmir on Monday.
Ahead of the visit, Sharma met Governor N.N. Vohra in New Delhi and held extensive discussions in regard to several important issues relating to the restoration of peace and normalcy in J&K. 25 years after his first posting for the intelligence bureau in the Kashmir Valley, Sharma in the capacity as the “Representative of Government of India” has been tasked to “initiate and carry forward” a dialogue with the “elected representatives, various organizations and concerned individuals in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.”
