Jammu: Missing minor girl found dead in Kathua, says police

Jammu: A minor girl missing since past week was found dead in Rasana village of Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district, a police official said on Thursday.
An eight-year-old girl, who had gone missing a week ago, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Hiranagar on Wednesday.
“We have shifted the body to the district hospital Kathua for postmortem,” the official said.
Reports said there were serious injuries on girl’s face.
Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case.
“We have filed an FIR. A SIT has been constituted,” SD Jamwal, Inspector General of Police, Jammu, told media.
Meanwhile, the family and the relatives of the girl staged a protest demanding swift investigation into the case and arrest of culprit(s).
