Poor network irks Airtel subscribers in Tral

Pulwama: The subscribers of the telecommunication company Airtel in Tral area of this south Kashmir district complain about the erratic mobile and poor internet services.
The Airtel subscribers from Nahir, Khasipora, Diver, Shaldraman, Panzoo, Batagund, Nagbal, Kangloora, Nagapathri, Ourigund, Machama, Chaan Kitar, Chewa, Gamraz and its adjoining areas told INS that they are facing immense problems due to the poor services offered by the telecom company.
“It is very unfortunate that every time we make a call, it breaks or the number comes out of reach,” a customer Mudasir Ahmad told INS. “Call drops are frequent in the area due to poor networking and connectivity.”
Subscribers said Airtel was the only hope for them but now “it is adding salt to our injuries by providing such poor service”.
“We never received good services from other networks and Airtel was the only hope for us. Now there is no difference between Airtel and other networks,” rued another subscriber Bilal Ahmad said.
The dismayed subscribers said the problem has aggravated since last month and despite back to back complaints to the concerned officials, nothing has been done.
Majid, who runs a wholesale confectionary shop, said he is facing a lot of problems due to poor services.
“I have several times apprised the customer care executives about the erratic service but to no avail. The customer care executives are making fake assurances by saying that the services would be restored in 2 or 3 days, but the situation is worsening with each passing day,” he said.
Raising similar concerns, a student from Panzoo village of Tral told INS, “I called customer care executives several regarding the problem of instant call drops and poor internet. They told me to wait for some days saying there is some technical snag. A couple of weeks have passed since then and the problem is yet to be resolved.”
Earlier, Airtel was considered as the best mobile network in Tral but it has failed to provide quality services to customers for the last few months.
When contacted, PRO Airtel, Kashmir, Priya Ranjan, told INS their technical team will listen to the complaints from the aggrieved subscribers first by calling on their mobile numbers, then a concrete step to restore the system will be taken soon.
“I will direct my technical team to discuss the issues with subscribers,” Priya said, adding, “Once the problem is identified, it will be resolved soon.”
