Sopore: Family and relatives of the missing murdered goldsmith Tariq Ahmed Malik once again held protest demanding his body and stern action against the accused persons.
Police had last week said Tariq, 32, who has been missing since December 26 has been murdered after abduction. He was robbed off and strangulated after abduction and his body was thrown into river Jhelum, police said.
Tariq’s family members and relatives held several protests for the last three weeks.
On Tuesday, the family again assembled at Iqbal Market, Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and held protest demonstration against authorities for failing to retrieve the body of Tariq.
They also blocked the road outside the SSP office, Sopore for many hours. The police reached to the spot and dispersed the protesters.
Tariq, a resident of Kalaroos in Kupwara, was presently putting up at Baba Yousuf, Sopore. His family also held protest outside the offices of DDC and SSP in district Kupwara demanding his body and stern action against the culprits.
The DDC Kupwara had assured them of “full support” but so far authorities have not been able to retrieve the body of Tariq.
