Ganderbal: Residents of Kangan village of this central Kashmir district on Monday staged protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) for not providing proper electricity to them.
Chanting anti-PDD slogans, the protesters blocked the Srinagar-Leh highway.
They said many villages including Mammar, Ganiwan, Sumbal, and Gund are suffering a lot due to unscheduled power cuts.
The protesters told INS that despite paying monthly electricity bills on time, PDD has failed to ensure adequate power supply in our areas.
Police and AEE PDD reached to the spot and assured people of addressing the problem.
