Srinagar: Army on Monday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid by killing five militants along the LoC in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Defence spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia said an infiltration bid was foiled by the “alert soldiers” near the Line of Control in Uri.
“Five militants were killed in the ongoing operation”, he said.
“The operation is going on,” Kalia added.
Earlier, Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid said that four militants of the Jaish-e-Muhammad were killed in a joint operation launched by the police, army and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
