Kupwara: The school education department on Friday placed under suspension two teachers and an RET of the Government High School Dardpora Lolab in this north Kashmir’s frontier, a day after INS reported that out of 44, only one student qualified the annual SSE examination, the results of which was declared by state Board of School Education.
“In view of the poor performance in SSE examination annual session 2017, (3 officials—two teachers and Rehber-e-Taleem) who have shown below 20% result in their subjects are placed under suspension with immediate effect,” reads an order issued here Chief Education Officer Kupwara.
Scores of locals including parents of students had on Thursday assembled at the school premises and held protest demonstration against the education department and the concerned school staff.
They accused the teachers of the school of not showing any concern over the poor performance of the students. The parents also raised slogans against the government and CEO Kupwara.
“Last year, 4 out of 52 students passed the examination and this year, just one,” Sarpanch Abdul Gafoor told INS.
“We will lock down the school if action was not taken against the school authorities,” he said.
