Kulgam youth dead in first civilian killing in 2018

Srinagar: In first civilian killing during protests this year, a 23-year-old youth was killed during clashes at Khudwani in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Tuesday. Two other youth were also injured in use of force by government forces.
Official sources said the youth, Khalid Ahmad Dar son of Suleman Dar, was hit in his neck after police and paramilitary forces resorted to teargas shelling and fired few rounds to disperse youth protesting in the area. Khalid, sources said, had bullet injury in his neck. Khalid was immediately shifted to nearby Janglat Mandi hospital Anantnag where he succumbed to injuries, they said.
CMO Anantnag said that three injured youth were received in the hospital and two among them had bullet injuries and one pellet injuries.
The clashes were going on in the area following the killing of two militants at Larnow Kokernag
