Beacon officer among seven missing in Kupwara avalanches

Srinagar: Seven persons, including a Beacon officer are missing after separate avalanches hit Sadhna Top in Tangdhar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
Official sources said that two Beacon officials were swept away by the avalanche. While one of them survived and was injured, another, a beacon officer (sector) who has been identified as MP Singh is missing.
Meanwhile, sumo, travelling from Kupwara towards Tangdhar was hit by an avalanche near Sadna top.
Reports said, sumo driver managed to escape from the vehicle at Sadma top while vehicle along with six passengers is still missing.
