Condolence meeting held to mourn demise of Al-Haj Nazir Ahmad Zargar; INS management express sympathy

Jammu: Cabinet minister and MLA Chadoora Javaid Mustafa Mir on Wednesday said government cannot do anything to stop human rights violations in Kashmir as “nothing is under our control”.
Mustafa made these remarks while responding to question by INS correspondent regarding the walkout staged by opposition members who demanded the adjournment motion to discuss the human rights violations in valley.
“Had it been up to us, we would have ensured that no violation of human rights takes place but nothing is under our control,” Javaid, who along with Tassaduq Mufti, the brother of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, took the oath of office and secrecy as Minister of the State last week.
“The government is trying its best to control the human rights violations in Kashmir,” he added.
While Tasaduq was allotted the tourism portfolio, Javaid was given portfolios of Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction and Floriculture departments.
