Sopore: President Traders Federation Sopore Mohammad Ashraf Ganie has called for shutdown on Wednesday against the “administration’s failure to stop the rising cases of theft” in the Apple Town – the Asia’s second largest fruit mandi.
Addressing a meeting of the Federation, Ganie said the local administration has “completely failed” to control the theft cases in the Town which are increasing with each passing day.
Referring to dozen of shops which were gutted in a fire incident in Sopore, Ashraf said “the shops were first looted by burglars and then set on fire”.
“Property worth crores has been destroyed,” he said, adding, “The administration has completely failed to prevent the Town from miscreants.”
“As a trade body, we appeal to people of Sopore to register a complete shutdown on Wednesday, January 3, so that the administration wakes up from its deep slumber,” the Traders Federation president said.
