Sopore: 12 shops were gutted in a fire incident at general bus stand, Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on early Tuesday morning.
According to reports, goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the blaze. However, no loss of life or casualties was reported in the incident.
A team of fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames along with the help of police and locals. Several shops were saved from burning.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, an official told INS.
Among the fire affected shopkeepers include Mushtaq Ahmed Lara, two brothers Abdul Rashid Khan and Manzoor Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Amin Moona, Mohammad Altaf Tara.
The identification of other affected shopkeepers is yet to be ascertained.
The estimation of losses was also not known yet.
