Sopore: A septuagenarian woman sustained severe burn injuries after her house caught on fire in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday evening.
Reports said fire broke out in house of one Parvaiz Ahmed Hajam at Hajam Mohallah Arampora area of this apple town. The fire emanated from kitchen of the house and a 74-year-old woman, Aasha Begum, received serious burn injuries. She was rushed to Sub District Hospital Sopore from where she was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment. A police official told INS that fire was caused by gas leakage.
Early on Tuesday, nearly a dozen shops were guttered in a devastating fire at General Bus Stand Sopore.
