Srinagar: Four persons were injured as government forces used to force on protesters in Drabgam area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
Reports quoting eyewitnesses said that hundreds of people assembled in Drabgam area where preparations for funeral of the one of the slain fidayeen, Manzoor Ahmad, was were going on. They said that clashes erupted when a forces party was going through the area. The forces, they said, resorted to force, injuring four persons. One of them has been seriously injured and has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment. A police officer told INS that they were ascertaining the details. “There was no police party in the area and we are ascertaining it,” the police officer said.
Manzoor Ahmad Baba son of Ali Mohammad Baba of Drubgam Pulwama was killed along with another local militant, Fardeen Ahmad Khanday son of Ghulam Mohammad Khanday, a serving police constable, resident of Nazeen Pora Tral in a fidayeen attack on CRPF camp in Lethpora area of the district.
