Doda: A two-day farmer scientist interaction programme was organised by the department of Agriculture under ATMA scheme at Agriculture Complex here on Friday.
Scientists from regional horticulture research station, Bhaderwah and experts from the department of agriculture Doda interacted with farmers on various aspects related to agriculture, horticulture, KCC and mushroom cultivation.
Haroon Hussain, AEO, conducted the proceedings of programme and SDAO Pranoo Yogi Raj welcomed the participants and briefed about various schemes run by the department.
Nasir Ahmed Zargar, DAO, extension Doda while addressing the farmers shed light on various projects of the department.
Dr Neeraj Kotwal, a scientist at RHRS, Bhaderwah briefed the participants on the management of field crops and stressed upon the adoption of recommended agronomic practices for increasing the production and productivity.
Haroon Hussain, AEO, briefed the participants about mushroom cultivation and advised the farmers to go for it as it can help them increase their income.
Agriculture implement kits were also distributed among the farmers.
