Jammu: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) has said its leadership would meet the Government of India’s interlocutor on Kashmir Dineshwar Sharma “only in Kashmir if invited by him” and brief him about the “real picture” of Kashmiri Pandits in the state.
In a joint statement, the APMCC leaders Vinod Pandit, Chairman, King C Bharati senior journalist and national spokesperson, Advocate Arun Kandroo General Secretary and TK Zutshi executive member said the conglomerate being the premier organisation working inside the valley for the welfare of Kashmiri Pandit community for the last over two decades can brief Sharma on the actual needs and problems of Pandit community.
The leaders said that Kashmiri Pandits were the real aborigines of Kashmir and it was for this reason the organisation has decided to meet him in their native land.
They said any deliberations, solutions, talks and interlocution was null and void without the active participation of premier organization. “The GoI and Sharma will have to take KPs into confidence before submitting any final report,” they said.
The statement said if an offer of talks comes from the interlocutor, APMCC will meet him in valley and brief him accordingly along with the volunteers and supporting organisations of the amalgam.
The leaders also asked Sharma to “take the mission to logical end with a clear message instead of frivolous solutions like the earlier interlocutors on Kashmir”.
The leadership also reminded the Government of India “not to toe the Congress line” on interlocutors. “Instead of doing it for the sake of keeping people in good humour, the fresh mission must find the permanent solution acceptable to Kashmiri Pandit community which is the real victim of the terrorism in Kashmir and has been bearing the brunt for the past almost three decades,” the APMCC said.
