Srinagar: Night temperatures throughout Jammu and Kashmir improved on Wednesday as the Met forecast light rain and snow in the higher reaches on Thursday and Friday.
Minimum temperatures improved due to nightlong cloud cover in the state, a Met official said.
Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 0.7 (rising above the freezing point) against Tuesday’s minus 2.6.
Jammu recorded 10.4 as the minimum temperature showing improvement over its 7.4 on Tuesday.
Kargil, which was the coldest town in the state, a day ago at minus 15.4, recorded minus 3.7 as its minimum, while Leh recorded minus 6.2, against its minus 11.6.
Pahalgam was at minus 0.3 (minus 4.9), Gulmarg was at minus 2.4 (minus 4.4).
Mata Vaishno Devi base camp town of Katra was at 18.4, while Batote, Bannihal, Bhaderwah and Udhampur recorded 8, 4.6, 4.9 and 8, respectively.
