117th session of Legislative Council: LC Chairman issues Provisional Calendar

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 22: Chairman, Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today issued provisional calendar for the 117th Session of Legislative Council which will begin on 2 January 2018 with the Governor’s address to the joint session of the Legislature.

The session would have 24 sittings which will conclude on 12 February 2018.

As per the calendar, the discussion on Motion of Thanks on Governor’s Address would be held on 3rd, 9th and 10th January.

The Budget for the financial year 2018-19 would be presented in the House on 11 January 2018.

The discussion on Motion of Thanks on Governor’s Address will continue on 12 January with the reply thereto.

The annual statement of expenditure (Budget) for the year 2018-19 and supplementary statement of expenditure for the year 2017-18 will be presented in the House on 11 January while general discussion on Budget will be held on January 15 and January 16. The general discussion on Budget and reply thereto would be again held on January 17.

Meanwhile, January 18, 19, 22, 29 and February 1, 9 and 12 have been dedicated for Government Business. The discussion on working of Ministries would be taken up on January 23, 30 and February 6.

The House will take up Private Members Resolutions on January 24 and 8 while February 2 and 7 have been dedicated to Private Members Bills.
