Thirty girl students group from Srinagar leaves for 9 days tour, Army

Srinagar 20 Dec 2017. A Thirty girl student group along with two female teachers and a team from Army left for a nine day tour to Delhi and Agra, Army said on Wednesday.

The Srinagar based spokesman in a statement said that under ‘Pariyon Ki Parwaz-II :National Integration, Educational & Motivational Tour for Girls of Srinagar’ and as part of the Army’s initiative to introduce the girl students to avenues and opportunities available 30 girl students from various schools, colleges and 1st Bn NCC of Srinagar left Srinagar.

“The students are accompanied by 02 female teachers and a team from Army,” statement said.

The statement said that Maj Gen R Ravi, GOC 31 Sub Area, flagged off the nine day tour from Badami Bagh Cantonment today which will entail visits to premier Educational Institutes and Industries including Miranda House, IIT Delhi, Jesus & Mary College, Lady Hardinge Medical College, Ericsson Telecom India Pvt Ltd and DMRC.

“The students will also get an opportunity to visit the places of rich cultural heritage   which will cover Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Lotus Temple, India Gate and Red Fort.  They would also be interacting with the Hon’ble Defence Minister of India, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman,” Army said.

The tour participants, according to army spokesman,  will also get ‘unique opportunities like Delhi Metro train joyride, Movie at PVR and visits to Kingdom of Dreams, National Rail Museum, National Science Centre and Tank Museum at Delhi.’
