Police asks people not to abandon homes to avoid burglary

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday asked people not to leave their homes abandoned to avoid burglary.
A police spokesman said that a police-public meeting was held on the directions of SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parry at Soura.
“A good number of respectable citizens participated in the meeting. The participants highlighted different issues related to policing, besides, appreciated the role of Srinagar police in curbing the social crimes,” the spokesman said.
“The participants were urged to cooperate with police and strengthen the hands of police in eradicating the social crimes from the society,” the spokesman said.
He added: “Besides the participants were asked to inform all the inhabitants not to leave homes abandoned as the unattended houses become easy targets to the burglars.”
