Governor summons Joint Session of Legislature on Jan 2

JAMMU: Governor N. N. Vohra, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under sub-section (1) of Section 53 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, has summoned the State Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council to meet at Jammu on Tuesday, the 2nd January at 11:00 a.m.
The Governor has called upon the Members of the J&K Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council to assemble together in the Central Hall of the Legislature Building in the New Secretariat premises Jammu, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of January, 2018, at 11:00 A.M to hear his Address to both the Houses of the Legislature under the provision of Section 55(1) of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir.
After the said Address, each House of the Legislature will meet as a separate body at the time to be specified by the respective Presiding Officers.
The Governor approved the State Government’s proposal in regard to this matter today.
