Tral: Scores of people blocked Tral-Dadsara road, in south Kashmir on Wednesday staged a protest demostration against Power Development Department (PDD) demanded immediate repair or upgradation of electric transformer, which was damaged a week ago, at uptown locality of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama distirct.

The protestors told The INS that, despite repeated requests to concerned officials ‘ nothing has been done so far in this regard as they have failed to replace or repair the damaged 400 KV transformer, forcing locals to remain in darkness’.

“We are demanding up gradation of the transformer from existing 400 KV as the existing transformer develops a technical snag every now and then because of heavy load in the area,” Sameer Ahmad , a local said.

The locals further said that the existing 400 KV transformer is not enough to cater the ever increasing load upon it and thus gets damaged every time.
