Srinagar: Doon International School held a Felicitation ceremony for their two students who have represented India in Macau 2017 open International Taekwondo Championship held in China and have achieved a victory by winning Gold and silver medals.

Dr. Haseeb Drabu finance minister of the state was chief guest.

Momina Manzoor bagged gold medal in cadet girls division and Masoon Fatima from class 8 bagged silver in sub junior girls cadet group in championship wherein 12 countries from all over world and more than 1500 athletes competed in various weight and age divisions.

Haseeb Drabu congratulated the students for bagging positions. “The Teachers should not only prepare students to get excellence in academics and get jobs. But also prepare to face the world outside,” Drabu said.

“The growing generation is facing social stripes, social chaos outside the school. So the teachers should prepare the students to face these problems in the society.” Drabu told the gathering.

Chairman DIS Srinagar Showkat Hussian Khan congratulated them and termed it as an auspicious moment for all in state and country.

Showkat Hussian Khan gave them a cash award of Rs 20000 to each and Rs 10000 to the coach.
