Ganderbal: Fire has engulfed Sonamarg forest in Sindh range of Ganderbal district since past three days, according to sources. Officials, however, claim the fire erupted on Monday.

“Compartment no. 64 at Lashpatri area of Sonamarg is ravaged by fire and is spreading,” sources said.
According to sources forests are up in flame from three days ‘causing huge damage to green gold.’
Range officer, Sindh range kangan,  Muneer Ahmad rejected claims that the fire is ravaging the forest from three days.

“The fire started today i.e on Monday and  80 percent fire has been controlled,” Ahmed said.
