Jammu: The Government of India has decided to set up two examination centres for the students of Kashmir Valley appearing in the upcoming NEET (PG)-2018 examination. The development comes after Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, made a communication to the New Delhi in this regard.
In a communication, the Union Health Ministry has informed the Board of Professional Examination authorities of the State to re direct the candidates belonging to Kashmir Valley to two Centres set up at Srinagar and Baramulla in this connection.
The decision follows a communication Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti had sent to Union Health & Family Welfare Minister, J P Nadda on November 10 drawing his attention towards the non availability of examination centres for candidates belonging to Kashmir valley for the examination being conducted by National Board of Examination on January 07, 2018. “The non-availability of an examination centre at Srinagar would   put such a large number of medical graduates to a lot of inconvenience”, the Chief Minister has written to the union Health Minister.
Requests from various groups of students had come to the Chief Minister for setting up an examination centre at Srinagar for the coming NEET (PG)-2018 examination in view of the large number of candidates from Kashmir Valley taking such an examination.
