Srinagar: Two policemen were among three persons killed and seven others injured in spate road accidents in Kupwara and Awantipora areas of Kashmir Valley.
In Kupwara, a police spokesman said, an Alto car (JK09A-7899) driven by Mudasir Tariq Mir of Tanghdar skidded off the road and fell in a Nallah near Ziyarat Sharief TP Kralpora, resulting in the on spot death of Habib-ul-lah Lone, Head Constable in J&K Police, son of Nazir Ahmad Lone of Suliman Tangdhar and Ruqaiya Begum wife of Shafiq Ahmad Manhas of Chamkote and injuries to four persons— Asmat Majeed wife of Habib-ul-lah,  their minor son Wamiq Ahmad Lone, minor girl Zohra Shafiq daughter of Shafiq Ahmad Manhas and the driver of the vehicle. The injured persons have been shifted to Sub District Hospital Kralpora.  INS reported the accident earlier.
In Awantipora, a Ritz car (JK01R-1390) driven by Irshad Shafi Kuchay son of Mohammad Shafi Kuchay resident of Bemina collided with an Alto K-10 (JK01AB-1496) driven by Mohammad Farooq, constable in J&K Police, son of Mohammad Ismail of Khawarpora Karnah Kupwara at Highway near Barsoo. Both the drivers and two other persons boarding the Ritz car were injured in this accident. All the injured were shifted to hospital where doctors declared Constable Mohammad Farooq Raina as brought dead.  Inspector General of Police Kashmir Munir Ahmad Khan has expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of police personnel and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls, the spokesman added.
