Srinagar: The Supreme Court of India has dismissed a plea against J&K High Court’s order, allowing J&K cricket team to participate CK Nayudu (U-23) tournament.
“The special leave petition is dismissed,” ordered a bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and D.Y. Chandrachud. the SLP was filed by Hisham Saleem son of Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director Health Service Kashmir, against an order by a Division Bench of J&K High Court comprising Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and Justice Alok Aradhe, modifying its single bench’s order to allow the JK team to participate in the tournament. It had also directed BCCI to reschedule the match between J&K and Goa which was cancelled on October 8 due to an order passes by court’s singe bench.
The single bench had passed the order on a plea filed by Hisham Saleem after he was not picked for the under-23 team. He had alleged discrepancy in selection.
