Srinagar: Train service resumed on Monday after remaining suspended for two days due to fear of protests in the Kashmir valley.

The service was suspended on Saturday following the killing of a militant Mugees Ahmad Mir in a shootout with police in Zakura on the outskirts of Srinagar.

Joint Resistance Leadership called for shutdown on Sunday against the search operations and militant killings.

An official said that the service was suspended on Saturday and Sunday following directions from the administration and police for security reasons. (INS)
