CUK holds two-day creative writing workshop for students

Srinagar: A two day creative writing workshop, “learning the craft of writing” commenced today in central university of Kashmir, Nowgam campus 1st.

The workshop was organized by the department of English and department of convergent journalism in collaboration with Indian institute of public administration [IIPA]. Prof SM Afzal quadri, director seminar, IIPA in his welcome note said, “The purpose of this workshop is to have an interaction between students, teachers and writers.”

Prof Mehraju-ud-din mir, vice chancellor, Central University of Kashmir in his presidential address thanked Director seminar, IIPA, Prof SM Afzal Qadri, Dean School of language, Prof NA Malik, resource person, Mr Ajaz-ul-haque and Deans and faculty of both departments.

Ajaz-ul-haque, producer EMMRC University of Kashmir and Greater Kashmir columnist in his introductory remark quoted Ernest Hemingway, “Writing is easy. All you do is to sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”

In its technical session Mr Ajaz-ul-haque enlighten the students ‘how not to write’ and Dr Ajaz Baba taught the students ‘the use of fun and pun in language.’

The workshop was also attended by the some students from women college, Srinagar.
